Things Written in Math Class
Skybound softwood
Sprouting, soaring,
One summer
She's sure to see
Above the sky's ceiling
Where silver stars
And sun's saffron rays
Spot the shades of saphire
Though in solitude
She stands
Stealing the life-supplying sun
From small, stunted seedlings
Whose span of life
Is severed
By her selfish, stretching limbs
Still, she's stunning
And we stare
At her symmetry
And wish ourselves
To be so sightly.
